A weekly group that meets in homes around the Benefice
A mixture of prayer & fellowship
This group meets on Wednesday afternoons, in each other's homes from 1.30pm for a couple of hours, during which we have time to talk, time to pray, and time just to enjoy each other's company over tea or coffee.
The talk is often about current affairs - of the world or of the church - and this discussion links in to our prayer time. The prayers also include personal requests and thanksgivings. Over the years we have found these times mutually supportive, and have grown very close. In addition, we often share amusing experiences - of holiday adventures, household events etc., so there is fun time as well as more spiritual time.
New members are always welcome - the dynamics of the group change to accommodate new viewpoints and needs, and this helps all of us to grow. The venue is usually included in the weekly church bulletin, or you can telephone Rob (01369 688 267) or Jennie (687 679) to find out where we will be.
Our newest venture is the joint sponsorship of a little girl in Tanzania, through the Compassion Charity. We are thrilled to have a joint 'granddaughter' - Valentina. We will keep in touch with her by letters, exchange photographs and news, and watch her grow and develop over the coming years. And we will remember her in our prayers every Wednesday.
